<div itemprop="description">After a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia, COPD and cancer, Henry “Hank” Carl Dorsch, 76, of Regina, SK passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Regina. <br><br>Hank is survived by his loving wife Helen Patricia (nee Kalb) of 52 years of Regina; son Doug Dorsch of Regina; daughters Natalie (Don) Fafard of Maple Ridge, BC and Debra (Brian) Dorsch-Poitras of Regina; grandchildren Lauryn and Gabrielle of Maple Ridge and Bailey, CeJay and Brady of Regina; and numerous sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins. <br><br>Hank was born in Glaslyn, SK to John Henry and Mary (Steinhardt) Dorsch on November 27, 1940. He went to high school at Weyburn Comprehensive and earned a football scholarship to attend University of Tulsa where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. <br><br>Hank was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders as a player from 1964 until 1971 and then became a board member and general manager until 1979. He was inducted into the Saskatchewan Roughriders Plaza of Honors in 2004. He went on to join the Public Service Commission and after a 25 year distinguished career retired. <br><br>Hank co-founded the Parkinson’s Curling Classic where nearly $1,000,000 was raised for Saskatchewan Parkinson’s research for Dr. Ali Rajput and Dr. Alex Rajput. <br><br>He enjoyed the outdoor life spending as much time as possible at the cabin he built and had a passion for golfing and fishing. <br><br>The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caring staff on 3 West at Pioneer Village for their attentive and loving care. <br><br>THE FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. as per family wishes everyone is welcome to wear green and white. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral starting at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Regina Cemetery. <br><br>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Alzheimer Association at www.alzheimer.ca/SK. <br><br>Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.</div>
