<div itemprop="description">Ron was born on the family farm near Orkney, Saskatchewan May 13, 1925 and passed away peacefully at Wascana Grace Hospice in Regina Saturday, March 18, 2017. <br><br>He was predeceased by his first wife of 37 years, Muriel (nee Gooding); brothers Jim and Roy; and his sisters Doreen and Beatrice. <br><br>Ron is survived by his sister Marion; brother Fred (Donna); daughter Linda (Don) Guggisberg; grandson Brandon (Sarah) Kolybaba; granddaughter Daena Hamilton; and his great grandchildren Nathan, Ryley, Kaden and Ziya. He is also survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Mildred (Healey) and her family: Georgene (Jim) McLeod, Greg (Sylvia) and Gordon (deceased) Healey; grandchildren Scott (deceased), Andra (Doug), Shawn (Caroline), Colleen (Juanie) and Gwen (Jason). Ron was great grandpa to Brody, Rylan, Jimmy, Clara, Jaia, and Amaija. Also left to remember him are many loving nieces and nephews. <br><br>Dearest to Ron’s heart were his family and friends, with whom he always had a ready smile and enjoyed a good chuckle. He loved to travel, see new sights and meet new people. Throughout his life, Ron enjoyed sports. He was a baseball, hockey and always a roughrider fan. <br><br>After serving in the army during the Second World War, he started farming south of Regina. Ron took great pride being a Saskatchewan farmer and enjoyed many wonderful friends in this farming community. <br><br>The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at College Park where he called home for two years. We would also like to thank the SMU unit at the Pasqua Hospital and the caring people at Grace Hospice where dad received compassionate and gracious care. <br><br>A CELEBRATION OF RON’S LIFE will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. <br><br>Donations in memory of Ron may be made to the Salvation Army, 2240 13th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3M7. <br><br>Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.</div>
