<div itemprop="description">Harold Albert Eley Passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK at the age of 90 years. <br><br>Harold was predeceased by his father Joe and mother Rhoda Jane; first wife Elinor (nee Preston) in 1999; second wife Helen (nee Love) in 2007; brothers Norman (Francis), Art (Tillie), Ben and Wilbur; sisters Mary and Margaret (Art) Chapman. <br><br>Harold is survived by brother Donald (Norma); sons Donald (Bonnie) and David (Deb); grandchildren Danielle (Scotty), Lindsay (Corey) and Tyler; also Helen’s family Robert (Deb), Brian (Denise), Arla (Phil), Reta and Tanner. <br><br>Harold was born on the farm near Colonsay, SK on October 10, 1926. He worked on his father’s grain and dairy farm while growing up, especially during the war years while older brothers were serving in the war effort. <br><br>Harold began engineering studies at the University of Saskatchewan in the fall of 1944, receiving his degree as a chemical engineer in 1948. Harold began his career as an engineer at the Material Testing Branch, Dept Of Highways in 1947, retiring in 1986. <br><br>Harold married Elinor Sproat Preston in 1949, and Helen Love in 2003. <br><br>Harold loved flying gliders and achieved his Diamond Badge. He was a life member of the Regina Gliding and Soaring Club. Harold also flew radio controlled airplanes and was a Ham Radio operator and owned two Model T’s. He was a member of the Dusty Spokes Model T Club. Curling was also a favourite activity and he was an original member of the Tartan Curling Club. During the summer he played golf and was a longtime member of the Emerald Park/Aspen Links Golf Club. Harold loved writing articles for magazines as well as short stories. <br><br>Thanks to all the nurses, doctors and staff of The Pasqua Hospital who cared for him. <br><br>A PUBLIC VISITATION will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. <br><br>A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. <br><br>In lieu of flowers please consider donating to The Western Development Museum, 50 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 1L9, or to a charity of one’s choice. <br><br>Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.</div>
