Sara graduated with a Bachelor of Religious Studies from Concordia University College of Alberta in 2004.

The summer Sara was 17 she had her first experience of being a camp counsellor at Luseland Bible Camp; she was hooked. She loved children and loved to teach them about Jesus. For the next 12 years she spent her summers at Bible camps, including Jackfish Lutheran (Roblin, MB), Aurora Lutheran (Thunder Bay, ON), Lutherland (Ft. Qu’Appelle, SK), Estevan Bible Camp and Madge Lake Bible Camp. Over the years she played every role there was to play: counsellor, director, secretary, maintenance person, and cook, and played them all well. These summers were highly important in her life and resulted in many long lasting relationships. In between camps Sara worked as a caregiver, sometimes for children but mostly for the elderly and disabled.

Sara was a collector of stuffed sheep for many years. After moving in with her sister and family in 2010, she took a notion to buy some real sheep and devoted a lot of spare time to caring for them, as well as helping with her nephews on the farm. She was a major player in all the chores in both house and barn.

Sara became ill in June of 2012. She entered Wascana Rehabilitation Centre in October of that year.

Sara passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2014.

She was predeceased by her father Milton (2002).

Sara is survived by her mother Lindah; siblings Joyanne, Sherrille, Steve, Elisabeth (Kent) and Rachel; seven nephews and one niece.

A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2015 4th Avenue North, Regina, SK S4T 0T5 on Saturday November 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with lunch to follow.

Interment will take place Monday November 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Prairie River Cemetery, Prairie River, SK with lunch to follow.

In memory of Sara, please make donations to your local Bible Camp or send a child to camp.

Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.
