<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother on Sunday, February 7, 2016 after a hard fought battle with Wegener&rsquo;s (vasculitis) disease. <br /><br />Ruth celebrated her 90th birthday with music, balloons, cupcakes and family. It was a wonderful day for Ruth and her family. Ruth was born at Glentworth, SK on February 5, 1926. <br /><br />She went to Normal School in Moose Jaw and became a teacher. She taught for a few years and then married Alvin on January 17, 1949. Together they raised a family of four children. <br /><br />Ruth loved to sew, knit, crochet, play card games and visiting with family. <br /><br />She was predeceased by her husband Alvin; her parents; brother John; and a number of in-laws. <br /><br />Ruth will be remembered by her family, son Raymond of Martensville, SK; daughter Jacqueline of Regina; son Randy (Marlyne) of Saskatoon and their family Brennan (Rochelle) and son Ryder of Martensville, and Evan of Okotoks, AB; daughter Debbie (Randy) Riddell of Regina and their family Karsen and Tiauna; her brother Howard Turner of Moose Jaw; nephew Cory (LeeAnne); niece Lori; plus many extended family and friends. <br /><br />A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. <br /><br />In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ruth may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2P6 or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8. <br /><br />Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850. <br /></div>
