<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Ruben Cooke, beloved Father, Grandfather, Great grandfather, Uncle and friend, just two months short of his 99th birthday. <br><br>He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years Josephine; brother Adam; father John Koch; and mother Eva (Miller) Koch Klammer. <br><br>Ruben leaves to mourn his passing his daughter Joan; granddaughter Debra (Paul) and step great grandsons Luke and Mark; granddaughter Cheryl (Garry) and great grandson Peyton; his granddaughters' father Tom Shepherd; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. <br><br>Ruben served in the Army in WW11 going overseas with the Red Deer Army Corps and returning home two years later with the Regina Rifles. He started his career upon his return with Mid West Paper where he remained until he retired at the age of 62. <br><br>Ruben loved gardening, carpentry and taking trips to Vegas with Jo. He was an avid Rider Fan and was recognized as the teams oldest season ticket holder. At the age of 98 he was still attending games with his grandchildren. <br><br>Ruben was a lifetime member and Lion of the Year with the Central Lions Club and also a member of the Legion. He took great pride in wearing his Lions pin and Legion jacket. <br><br>For the past four years he has resided at the Veterans ' Wing of the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre where he was treated royally by the competent and caring staff. <br><br>A CELEBRATION OF THE LIFE OF MY AMAZING FATHER RUBEN will take place at the Regina Funeral Home, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday September 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. <br><br>Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.</div>
