“We shall meet you in the Fellowship of the Spirit and surely you will meet some of us as you trudge the road to Happy Destiny.”

The family of Ray Gerry is saddened to announce his peaceful and dignified passing. He joined his Higher Power on the morning of November 14, 2014.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, partner and best friend of 38 years, Dolores and sister Florence Seel.

Ray was a proud Canadian, a Regina businessman and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 40 years. He was a long-time and honourary life-time member of the Eureka Fellowship Society. His home group was the “Saturday at 9 Group”.

Ray was instrumental in starting the Regina Detox Centre and the driving force behind the creation and development of the Pine Lodge Treatment Centre. Both of these facilities continue to provide the opportunity for thousands of individual men and women to find sobriety and live a full, loving and productive life.

Ray had a lifetime commitment to serving others that was illustrated through his work on numerous boards and with organizations and community associations that were dedicated to helping people with addiction issues. “People helping people” was his motto.

A spiritual man who loved generously and unconditionally, Ray received the reciprocal love of countless friends from every walk of life. For the past 30 years,

Ray enjoyed wintering in Arizona, where he did a fair amount of golfing. His three ‘holes-in-one’ is not a bad record for an amateur!

Ray will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he enriched with his genuine love, care and kindness. We have lost someone very special.

A FUNERAL SERVICE celebrating Ray’s life will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Balgonie, SK on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., celebrant is Father Ed Hengen.

Interment will be at Regina Memorial Gardens, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Ray may be made to the Eureka Fellowship Society, 1165 Pasqua Street, Regina SK, S4T 4L1.

Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.
