<div itemprop="description">Pete was born in Hodgeville, SK on October 2, 1957. He grew up on the family farm but left home at the age of 17 to attend school in Moose Jaw. <br /><br />After school, at the age of 19, he moved to Regina and immediately obtained a job at SaskTel, where he remained until he retired at the age of 51 in 2008. He enjoyed his work at SaskTel as a Technical Engineer and later as president of the union. He was very passionate when it came to the union and he helped many people, always volunteering to do the job that no one else wanted to do. <br /><br />After retirement, he enjoyed spending time on his hobbies, which included mechanics, building projects, and home improvements. He was also an active member of the Pension Board of SaskTel. <br /><br />Pete died at home, suddenly but peacefully, in his sleep on the night of Wednesday, November 19, 2014, surrounded by his family. <br /><br />He was predeceased by his father Eric and his mother Irene (nee Zacharias). <br /><br />He is survived by his wife Donna of 30 years, his two wonderful children Jared and Maria, his sister Christine Klyne (husband Bruce), and his many nieces and nephews. <br /><br />He was a loving husband and devoted father who loved his family very deeply. He will be greatly missed by any and all who knew him. <br /><br />A time to celebrate his life in an informal reception will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, November 25 from 2:00 &ndash; 4:00 pm. <br /><br />In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Wildlife Development Fund. <br /><br />Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.</div>
