<div itemprop="description">RIEBEN, Lynne <br> <br> It is with great sadness that we share with our family and friends the passing of our wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Niece and friend Lynne Rieben. Lynne was born in Toronto, Ontario September 23, 1948. Lynne spent her public and high school years in Toronto and enjoyed many activities such as swimming, dancing and cooking. Lynne had enrolled in the Registered Nursing Assistant program in her last two years of high school before she met her husband. <br> Lynne and Bill Rieben were married July 15, 1967 in Toronto, Ontario. Lynne had two children, Lori Garchinski (Neil) and Dawn Rieben who were a very important part of her life. Lynne’s three treasures were her grandchildren Kaila Johnson (Chris), Aimee Garchinski (Nathan Baron) and Taran Garchinski (Sammie Asfaw). She is also survived by her loving aunt Lillian Crush; sister Sandy Wood; her two nephews Ryan Wood and Ian (Caitie) Wood; as well as her great nephews Braxton and Logan. <br>Lynne was predeceased by her parents Anita and Zandy Krasovsky; her brother in law Dennis Wood; and recently her aunt Pauline Kislak. <br> Lynne had a real zest for life and was often known to be turning on the music, starting the dance party, reaching out to friends and always living life for today and not worrying what tomorrow would bring. Lynne suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis for fifty years and actively fought through the pain and surgeries to ensure that she was able to share in many family events. Not only did we admire and learn from her strength as a family, we know that many people in her life were also affected by her determination to not let the disease slow her down. Throughout Lynne’s life, she was always eager to share her perspective as a patient with health care providers, helping them learn and understand diseases through someone else’s eyes. Many nurses, physicians, therapists, social workers and students had the privilege of learning from Lynne. She was willing to share her stories, let others learn by doing physical assessments on her, and always reaching out to others who were experiencing challenges with their own health. No matter what Lynne faced, her outlook was positive and always with a vision to look beyond her disease. <br> In 1997, when it was becoming too difficult for Lynne to live independently, she moved into Wascana Rehabilitation Center where she lived for the next 20 years. It was here in Wascana that she was able to dedicate herself to the well-being of the other residents and provide a voice for those who could not speak on their own behalf. She was the President of Residents Council for many years and dedicated her time to fundraising for patient equipment, welcoming others to Wascana and helping them adjust to their new life. Regardless of the situation, there was always a bright light in Lynne’s eyes and a sense of adventure in all she did. Lynne was known to make Wascana a fun place to live and the many stories of Lynne’s escapades are legendary with the staff and residents. <br> A CELEBRATION OF LYNNE’S LIFE will be held at Wascana Rehabilitation Center Concourse area, 2180 23 Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lynne may be made to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation c/o Wascana Rehabilitation Center Unit 3-3, dedicated to patient equipment and ongoing staff education, are gratefully accepted. <br> Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850. <br></div>
