<div itemprop="description">KUNTZ, Lydia Marie (Weichel) <br>September 9, 1931 – June 1, 2016 <br> <br>With heavy hearts we are sad to say that Lydia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the age of 84 years. <br> <br>The angels have taken her to Heaven to be with her daughter Elaine; son Harvey; parents Joseph and Josephine; brothers John (Liz) and Adam; sister Kay (Ray) Strand; and Lydia’s grandsons Johnny Volk and Trevor Costron. <br> <br>Left to cherish Lydia’s memory are her children Leona Volk, Shirley Costron, Lorne (Bev) Kuntz, Corinne Kuntz, Roberta Kuntz, Rita (Gordon) Matt and Calvin (Lorna Hancock Small) Kuntz; daughter-in-law Debby Kuntz; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters Eva (Henry) Enns, Doreen (Louis) O’Shaugnessy and Bea (Ivan) Hoffman; sister-in-law Lila Weichel; and numerous nieces and nephews. <br> <br> Lydia was born and raised in Montmartre, SK and settled in Regina after her marriage. <br> <br>She worked mainly in the hospitality industry as a waitress and cook until her retirement. <br> <br>Throughout her life Lydia enjoyed caring for her grandchildren as well as spending time with her family. <br> <br>We would also like to thank the nurses and caregivers at Extendicare/Parkside Nursing Home as well as the nurses and staff at the Pasqua Hospital, Unit 3D for their caring and compassion, particularly during her last few days. <br> <br>A CELEBRATION OF LYDIA’S LIFE will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow. There will be a friends and family gathering after the interment. <br> <br>Donations in memory of Lydia may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or a charity of one’s choice. <br> <br>Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850. <br></div>
