Family Thank You

The family of Lloyd Harris Campbell would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all who came to celebrate Dad’s life on Saturday, June 4, 2016. Special thanks to those who shared precious memories of Lloyd during the service. We appreciate the online condolences, cards, beautiful floral bouquets, food and generous contributions to The William Albert House in memory of Lloyd. We are also thankful for the professional services provided by the Regina Funeral Home and Wascana Florist Shoppe for creating gorgeous floral arrangements. Special thanks to The William Albert House administration, staff and friends for their love, care and support during Lloyd’s stay and particularly in his final days.

On May 25, 2016, Lloyd Harris Campbell, born on January 4, 1915 passed away peacefully at the William Albert House in Emerald Park, Saskatchewan.
Lloyd was predeceased by his loving wife Wilma (nee Hubbard), his parents Alexander and Eva Campbell, mother and father-in law Grace and Charles Hubbard, sister Verna Evans, brothers Glen, Donald and Garnet, sister-in-law Fern Campbell, brother-in-laws William (Bill) Evans, Nick Lazaruk and Ken Hubbard, and nephew Gregory Hubbard.

Lloyd is survived by his loving family, sister Margaret Smith, brother Gordon Campbell, sister-in-laws Grace and DeVerne Campbell, Pat Lazaruk and Edith Hubbard, brother-in-law Archie Smith, children Jo Campbell (Jim Hipkin), Tamara Campbell, Alexander “Sandy” (Lanny) Campbell, Erin Campbell (Dan Howell), his grandchildren Joel Campbell, Courtney (Todd) Bodnar, Georgia Hipkin and Cassidy Howell, his great grandchildren Cacherel and Lachlan Campbell and Autumn and Emma Bodnar, and a clan of cousins, nieces and nephews.

There were a few things Lloyd really loved – nature, health, family, friends, being an entrepreneur, farmer and sportsman. Lloyd invested a lifetime studying the connections between all living things and as an elite Pedigreed Seed Grower; he made a good living and life in partnership with his family and the land.

He enjoyed many family gatherings, and loved to play jokes on family and friends. He also loved the thrill of business, taking risks and betting on his odds of winning, leveraging his tenacity, vitality and a keen strategic mind. As a sportsman he was competitive - always keen to pursue the win. Lloyd participated in three Brier Championships (1947, 1955 and 1957), winning the Brier with three of his brothers in 1955, Saskatchewan’s Jubilee year. He always said if you don’t have your health, you have nothing to go on, so although he worked extremely hard, he took care of himself, overcame many health challenges and lived more than a century.

The family invites all those wishing to celebrate Lloyd’s legacy to join us on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 2:00 pm at the Regina Funeral Home 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

The family wishes to extend appreciation and gratitude for the loving and compassionate care provided by the William Albert House administration, staff and resident friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Lloyd to the William Albert House, 333 Emerald Park Rd, Emerald Park, SK S4L 1C9.

Arrangements entrusted to the Regina Funeral Home & Cemetery.
