Larry Wayne Sakundiak passed away following a brief illness on Sunday, July 27, 2014.

Larry was predeceased by his mother and father, Ella and Peter Sakundiak.

Larry is survived by his wife Carol (nee Argue); daughter Kimberly Sakundiak; son Wade (Danielle) Sakundiak; and his great joy, granddaughter Charlotte (Charlie) Sakundiak. He is also survived by his sister Sharon (Lloyd) Ottenbreit; aunts Freda Stulberg, Joan Stulberg, Evelyn Ryan and Sophie Sakundiak; as well as Sharon’s children, Derrick (Kim) Ottenbreit, and Amie (Vince) Amyotte; and Carol’s nephews Michael, Cameron (Lexi) and Mark (Danielle) Kincade.

Larry was born in Regina on April 6, 1946, and spent his early years on Hamilton Street, attending Imperial School near the first location of Sakundiak Farm Equipment. He later lived on Quinn Drive before moving to a farm south of Regina with the family business. Larry began working in the plant full time at the age of 16.
Larry also began a lifelong relationship with Carol at the same age and together they farmed and raised their two children. Larry learned the business from the ground up, working on the machines, painting augers, driving semi, drafting, purchasing, designing and finally as President and CEO following his father’s death in 2005. He believed you should never ask anyone to do something you would not do, and until the business was sold in 2009, Larry was often found working along with the other employees, manufacturing equipment or fixing machines. Larry enjoyed handcrafting wooden furniture, entertaining friends with a gourmet meal or backyard BBQ, camping and traveling with family and friends.

A SERVICE TO CELEBRATE LARRY’S LIFE will be held at the Conexus Arts Centre, 200A Lakeshore Drive, Regina SK on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

The family would like to thank Leona, Lorenda and all the Palliative Home Care staff, the staff of the Pasqua Hospital, Dr. Bonnie Richardson, Dr. Patrick Duffy, Dr. Barry Lotz, and Dr. Alana Kilmury.

Flowers accepted, monetary or blood donations in memory of Larry can be made to Canadian Blood Services, 2571 Broad Street, Regina, SK S4P 4H6.

Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.
