<div itemprop="description">After a courageous battle with cancer, Ivan passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015. <br /><br />Ivan was predeceased by his father Fred; his mother Ida; special Aunt Erma; in-laws Arnold and Alice Poier; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. <br /><br />He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Joan, of 50 golden years. Also left to mourn are his four children, son Les and his children Jamie, Amanda and Erin; daughter Kathy (Scott) McGillivray and their children Jordan (Malissa), Kurtis (Megan), Kristen and Sydney; son Alan (Heather) and their children Tayler and Mikaylee; daughter Karla (Mike) Sillinger and their children Owen, Lukas and Cole; as well as four great grandchildren. Also remembering Ivan are his brother Lorne (Terry); sister Cindy (Harold) Janzen; brother in-law Doug (Loreen) Poier; as well as many nieces and nephews. <br /><br />Ivan was born and raised and took his schooling In Morris MB. <br /><br />He joined the RCMP September of 1960. While stationed in Yorkton, he met and married Joan (Poier). After several postings and 26 years of service, Ivan and Joan retired in Regina. <br /><br />Ivan enjoyed spending time in his work room, building and repairing things with his many tools. We will all greatly miss his quiet wisdom and sharp witt and his grandchildren will all miss their &quot;Papa&quot;. <br /><br />A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Highway #1 East, Regina, SK on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. <br /><br />For those so wishing, memorial donations may be directed to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina Sk.
