She loved to ride horses bareback and learned to yodel bringing in the cows. In later years she delighted her grandchildren when they said ”OOdle for us grandma.”

She moved to Regina to finish her high school and stayed to work in the city. She met her Soulmate John, a handsome young sailor at a dance in the Trianon Ballroom. They were married in 1942 and soon after she moved with her Johnny to Victoria near his Navy Station at Esquimalt.

Following the war, they tried farming at McLean, Sask. As their family grew they moved back to Regina. They settled at 1736 McIntosh St., where they lived for 54 years. Their neighbors became FAMILY. (Some of whom were still visiting her in her last few days.) John and Isabell bought a cottage at Clearview Resort beside their city neighbors. They had years of fun with each other’s children and grandchildren.

In retirement she and John enjoyed many holidays in Canada and the USA on bus tours and with friends. After John passed she moved to a Hampton House apartment.

She became The driver of the Gambling Grannies Duo. She and Peggy enjoyed hours of fun together on casino bus tours and playing in Casino Regina. Throughout her years she knit beautiful Mitts, sweaters, scarves etc. first for her growing family and then for the churches “mitten tree” for the underprivileged.

In her most recent years Isabell moved to assisted living at the Renaissance and then finally to the Olive Branch Special care home. Here she continued to delight in the accomplishments and antics of her family. She was so proud to pose in the five generation pictures with her two great great grandchildren.

A CELEBRATION OF ISABELL’S 94 YEARS will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. Interment and reception to follow.

Donations in memory of Isabell may be made to a charity of choice.

“What the heart has once known and loved it shall never lose.”

Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.
