<div itemprop="description">Hugh passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015. <br /> <br />Hugh was predeceased by his mother, Blanche; father Norman; sister Jean; and brother Bob. <br /> <br />He is survived by his wife Louise of 61 years and their children: Lynn (Tim) Jansen, Andrew (Dawn) and Vincent, Bonnie (Christian) Haus, Arie and Summer, Dean (Heather), Christine; Sharon (Brian) Perkins, Jenna (Dorian), Madelyn, Kallum, Landon; Doug (Lois) McGillivray, Catherine, Scott, Megan and Michael; Janice (Todd) Brunas, Carter and Hayden; Colleen (Trevor) King, Jocelyn, Adam, and Rachel. <br /> <br />Hugh or Hughie as he was known arrived at the Regina General Hospital on April 20, 1932. Little did he know that Louise, his future bride, arriving on April 21, 1932 was beside him in the nursery. However, they would not officially meet until 20 years later at a hockey game in Indian Head. <br /> <br />Hugh spent his entire life on the farm at Bratt&rsquo;s Lake. He was very pleased to receive the Century Farm Award for the farm established by his great grandparents in the 1880s having arrived from Ontario. <br /> <br />His love of farming extended to livestock including a Holstein dairy, herd of Aberdeen Angus beef, and flocks of sheep and poultry. He had a special place in his heart for all animals. Hugh enjoyed farming but what mattered most to him was his family &ndash; Louise, five children, 17 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. <br /> <br />Hugh and Louise enjoyed many years of cottage time at Pasqua Lake and 17 years of happy hours in Mesa, Arizona. <br /> <br />The family would like to say a special thank-you to the staff at Sunset Extendicare and Bayshore Health. <br /> <br />A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Family interment will take place at a later date. <br /> <br />Donations in memory of Hugh may be made to the Parkinson&rsquo;s Society of Saskatchewan, 610 Duchess Street, Saskatoon, SK S7K 0R1. <br /> <br />Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850. <br /></div>
