<div itemprop="description">Gustav passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 23, 2016. <br> <br>He was born in Neustift, Burgenland Austria on September 12, 1932 to Rudolf and Karoline (Nikles), the youngest of three sons. He grew up on the family farm in Popendorf, where he became a wagon maker and wood turner. <br> <br>Gustav moved to Canada in 1953. <br> <br>He married the love of his life Phylis (Ayres) on February 14, 1957. <br> <br>Gustav was predeceased by his father; mother; step mother; brother Felix; wife Phylis; and granddaughter Kesha. <br> <br>He is survived by his brother Rudolf (Ella) and family; sister-in-law Dolfine and family; son Leslie (Carole); son Randy (Nichole); daughter Rachelle (Brent); grandchildren Alicia (Graham), Cassandra (Ryan), Brady, Max, Erika and Tanner; and great grandchildren Alexander and Elizabeth. <br> <br>He spent many hours gardening, working outside, fishing, hunting, playing cards at the Austrian Club and spending time with family and friends. Gustav’s accomplishments include a loving family, founding member of the Austrian Canadian Edelweiss Club. He served on the board of directors for 35 consecutive years in various positions; President, Vice President, Director, Österrreicher Jagd and Fisch Verein as President and Director. He worked at IPSCO from 1962 – 1995. <br> <br>A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1909 Ottawa Street, Regina, SK S4P 1P7 on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gustav may be made to the Regina Humane Society, PO Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7 or to your local Humane Society would be appreciated. <br> <br>Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.</div>
