We are saddened to announce that Gord Strom, born on August 25, 1952, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2016.

Gord will be forever missed and cherished by his loving wife Joan of 38 years; three daughters Amy (Craig) Saworski, Mindy Strom and Tammy (Dale) Locken. Gord also had a very special bond with his two grandsons Mitchell and Jaxon Saworski. He will be lovingly remembered by his mom Lucille Strom; brothers Danny (Ann) and Duane; sister Diane (Lorne) Forsberg; as well as numerous in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Gord was predeceased by his dad Melvin Strom; brother and sister in law Marvin and Donalda Strom; Joan's parents George and Ellen Werner; brothers-in-law Ron, Gerry and Brian Werner and sisters-in-law Betty and Olive Werner.

Gord will be fondly remembered for his many jokes and his incredible ability to lighten up any room with his warmth, infectious smile, and his unforgettable laughter. He had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and at ease. Leave it to Gord to turn any regular day into a fun and memorable story to reminisce and laugh about in the years that followed. Gord's calm demeanor and his ability to handle any situation was admirable. He was a humble and respected man whose word was his word, and those who knew him gravitated to his larger than life personality.

Gord grew up on a farm in the Lake Alma area and it was as a young boy that he realized his love for trucks and heavy equipment. Operating heavy equipment came naturally to Gord and it was truly where he loved to be. He loved all his toys. Anyone who knew Gord knows that a big bonfire, the odd "soda" and a good laugh was the way to his heart, and there are many great memories of doing just that.

Gord and Joan were partners in every sense of the word - partners in life, partners in raising their family, travel partners, and were a great example of a loving relationship. An entire lifetime spent together would not have been long enough.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the wonderful team at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre and all the staff and nurses at Wascana Grace Hospice and Palliative Care.

Please join us for A CASUAL CELEBRATION OF GORD'S LIFE to be held at the Regina Funeral Home, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 6:30 p.m.

In keeping with Gord's easy going personality, please dress casual and join us as we tell stories and reminisce on our great memories.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation may do so to the Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6.

Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.
