Garry Quiring
January 6, 1950 - July 23, 2014
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Garry Wayne Quiring, 64 years, of Regina, SK, on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, from cancer.
He is missed by his loving wife, Sylvia (née Allen); daughter Wendy; son Brett (Jacqueline Roy); brother Jack; sisters-in-law Ruby, and Dorothy (Jerry) Bulitz; brother-in-law Wayne (Moira) Allen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Garry was predeceased by parents Cornelius (Neil) and Annie Quiring of Lucky Lake, SK, where Garry grew up; brother Jerry; and a brother who died in infancy.
Garry worked for the City of Regina his entire career, retiring as Manager of Urban Planning in 2005. He took on contracts afterwards, but his first priority always remained enjoying life with family and friends. His deep passion for music resulted in an astounding record collection and trips to many memorable concerts. He loved watching football with his children.
In later years, Garry was often seen taking walks at Wascana Trails or White Butte with his faithful dog, Jesse.
AN INFORMAL GATHERING to celebrate all that was good in Garry’s life will be held at Regina Funeral Home – Arbor Room, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m
In lieu of flowers, those so wishing are asked to donate to his favourite charity, the Regina Food Bank, 445 Winnipeg Street, Regina, SK S4R 8P2.
Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.
