<div itemprop="description">Doreen Shirley Butterfield (Mitchell) passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre in Regina. <br><br>She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Howard Butterfield of Regina. Also surviving her are her brother Jim (Gail) of BC; sister-in-law Shirley Jensen of Glendon, AB; brothers-in-law Wayne (Patricia) Butterfield of Dugald, MB, Greg (Cindy) Butterfield of Kronau, SK and Ron Butterfield; sister-in-law Beth Butterfield of Brandon, MB; and numerous nieces and nephews. <br><br>Doreen was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Doris Mitchell; her favourite bridge partner and brother-in-law Morris Jensen; and brother-in-law Stewart Butterfield. <br><br>Doreen was born on December 16, 1950 to Gordon and Doris Mitchell of Winnipeg, MB. Doreen graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Science and the University of Regina with a degree in Business Administration. After her marriage she and Howard moved to Regina where she spent 25 years with Sask Tel. She then joined Howard in running the family business Independent Lift Truck until its closure in 2013. Doreen's career at Sask Tel started in the Traffic Department and led to various management positions in Customer Services and the Customer Care Center. Her positive and caring attitude was inspirational to coworkers and customers that came in contact with her. <br><br>Doreen enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends. She loved her dogs (Tarr, Kole, Luke, and Duke) and parrot Sky. Doreen curled and also sang in the Sask-Tel choir. Doreen was a wonderful friend to those who knew her. She had a heart of gold and a true faith in the goodness of people. Her strength was an inspiration for all of those around her. <br><br>The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Pasqua Hospital and especially Ward 2-6 at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for their excellent care. Thanks also to the friends who came to visit, with a special thanks to her very dear friends Gavin and Audrey Wood for all they have done. <br><br>A MEMORIAL GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Harry Strauss and Cory Illingworth officiating. Reception to follow, all friends welcome. <br><br>No sympathy cards, please. Donations in memory of Doreen may be made to the Regina Humane Society, P.O.
