Jim passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the age of 69 years, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jim grew up on a farm near Swift Current until he moved to Regina in 1971 to pursue a career as an electrician.

He enjoyed his 36 years working for Sun Electric/ Alliance Energy as an electrician and foreman where he got the opportunity to work on projects that have helped build Regina’s horizon to what we see today.

Jim married Vicky Motilag in 1973 and they raised three children in Regina who kept them busy with hockey, soccer games, and dance recitals.

Jim was a family man who loved to spend time with his grandkids by taking them for walks, playing at the park, or attending their recitals and sporting events. In his spare time Jim loved to curl and built many friendships throughout the years.

A special thanks to all of the physicians and health providers that were involved with Jim’s care.

Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife Vicky; his children Cam (Amanda), Roxanne Rankin (Trent), and Kurtis (Kim); grandchildren James and Hannah Rankin, and Emily and Katie Thick; brother Wayne (Sheila) as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Jim is predeceased by his parents Edwin and Jean, and his brother Alvin.

A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with a viewing available one hour before.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, 204 - 3775 Pasqua Street, Regina, SK S4S 6W8 (donate.saskcancer.ca) or Regina Palliative Care Inc. 4F - 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1A5 (rpci.org).

Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.
