<div itemprop="description">Dolores was born March 30, 1931 at Baring, SK and passed away peacefully on April 7, 2017 at the Regina Pasqua Hospital at the age of 86 years. <br><br>She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Ethel Gaw; brothers Jack, Laurie, Bill, Bobbie and Irvine; sister Marion; as well as her husband Tom. <br><br>Dolores is survived by her son Rick; daughter Linda (Ross); and grandsons Ian (Shauna) and Mark. She will be greatly missed by her brothers Cliff and Murray (Barbara); cousin Agnes; her McGovern relations Betty, Audrey, Helen M; Helen & Harold; as well as all her many nieces and nephews. <br><br>Dolores trained to be a nurse at Regina Grey Nuns Hospital, graduating in 1953. Her career included teaching, the recovery room, and the operating room. She worked in the same hospital (now the Pasqua) for over 25 years before retiring in 1992. <br><br>Dolores took pride in her home and family and was always willing to help when needed. After Linda and Rick left home, over the years, several nieces and nephews called 8th Ave N home. She enjoyed the time she spent with all of them. <br><br>Both before and after retirement she and Tom spent many winters in Las Vegas often joined by other members of the family. <br><br>For the last several years Dolores was a resident at Wintergreen Estates where she made new friends who shared her love of card games, knitting, and socializing. The staff of Wintergreen enabled Mom to stay in her own home as long as possible. <br><br>The family is very grateful to the caring staff for their assistance and would like to thank all the staff who were so good to her. We would also like to thank all the Staff and the Pasqua Hospital who helped her during her various visits and most recently those in the Palliative Care Unit during her last few days. <br><br>A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR DOLORES will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow. <br><br>Donations in memory of Dolores may be made to Regina Palliative Care Inc., 1802 McAra Street, Regina, SK S4N 6C4 or Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina, SK S4S 1X7. <br><br>Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.</div>
