It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, Dennis at the age of 63 years. Dennis was born and raised in Regina, SK and was the apple of his Mom’s eye and “The Golden Boy” according to his sisters. Dennis passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 peacefully with the love of his life Patti, his daughter Stacey, and son Devon by his side.

Dennis loved life and was always surrounded by lots of laughter and many great memories. He devoted many years to coaching Devon’s hockey teams; babysitting his grandchildren and watching their sports; playing catch with all the kids and taking them for boat rides or quad rides; and always had a chore for Devon and James to help him with at the lake.

After many years at the Leader family cabin, Dennis and Patti eventually bought their own place on Mission Lake in 1999 and three years later permanently moved out to the lake. Dennis enjoyed lake life to the fullest whether it was on the golf course, cruising in his boat, dancing at the Lebret Bar, snowmobiling, hanging out with many great friends sharing lots of laughter and a few too many drinks or just relaxing on the patio with Patti enjoying the view and some good music.

Dennis and Patti loved to travel; they spent their winters in Playa Del Carmen with their family from abroad. Over the years they travelled to Playa Del Carmen, Cuba, Hawaii, Dominican Republic, Puerto Vallarta, Palm Springs, Phoenix, and a seven week tour of Europe.

Dennis worked for Ag Canada for many years before quitting his job with the government and starting his own business, Lube City. Dennis owned and operated Lube City for 19 years. After selling the businesses in 2007 Dennis spent time working maintenance for the Villages of Lebret and B-Say-Tah.

Dennis was predeceased by his father Stewart Leader; father-in-law David Amberson; sister Donna Fisher; sister-in-law Connie Affie; brother-in-law Dwayne Affie; nephew Troy Filleul; and his beloved friend Rob Henderson who he has now joined again in Mexico for a long walk on the beach.

Dennis is survived by his wife Patti; daughter Stacey (James); son Devon (Lindsay); his seven grandchildren Jenna, Jacob, Miah, Gabriel, Kendal, Brooklyn and his `little mini-me` Hayden; his mother Hilda Leader; mother-in-law Ferne Amberson; sisters Babs (Dave), Judy (Harold), and Cathy (Barry); his brother Jack; his sisters-in-law Rhonda (Larry) and Susan (Wayne); his brothers-in-law Dwight (Adrienne), Greg, Mitch (Raye-Anne) and Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dennis also leaves behind some very special friends that he and Patti chose to be a part of their family, Lynn and Ila, Pat and Lorna, and Lyle and Dolores.

A CELEBRATION OF DENNIS’ LIFE will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. All attending are welcome to share stories and memories of Dennis.

Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.
