It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Ell (Charlie), on Friday, April 22, 2016 with his family by his side. Charles had a short, valiant and very private battle with Leukemia. Not once did he complain or wish to burden others with his illness showing much pride, strength and courage right to the end of his journey.

Charles was born on August 13, 1947, in Regina SK. He made Regina his home where he attended school and later found a fulfilling career. Charlie was a loving husband, a wonderful father, a special "Papa", a kind soul, a mentor and a great friend to many. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him and encountered his spunky wit.

Charles was predeceased by his parents Peter and Katherine Ell.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Karen; their daughters DeAnna (Kyle) and Courteney; grandchildren Nolan and Maya; sisters Marie (James) Cummings and Marlene (William) McNall; nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A heartfelt thank you to all family and friends who supported Charles and his family through his difficult journey, specifically to Dr. H. Bauer, Dr. M. Aslam, the doctors, nurses and numerous support staff in the Pasqua Hospital both in Ward 3B and especially the Palliative Care Unit. Their dedication to their patient's comfort and their ability to support families is unsurpassed in medical care.

To respect Charles' wishes, being the proud private man he was, there will be no funeral service at his request. You are asked to remember him as he was to you.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 7T1 or by giving the gift of life to Canadian Blood Services.

Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.
