Calvin Vollet
November 26, 1950 - February 19, 2016
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Calvin Evoy Vollet on Friday, February 19, 2016.
Cal was born in Regina on November 26, 1950. He attended Central Collegiate and shortly after graduation joined the Federal government, retiring after 35 years of service.
Cal’s passions included golfing, pool, curling, ‘Texas Hold ‘em” poker and winter months in Mesa, AZ. Cal was an avid Roughrider fan and cheered on his beloved Boston Bruins since childhood.
Cal was predeceased by his parents Anne and Ken Vollet; aunt and uncle Edna (Dave) McKillop; uncle Herb (Muriel) Evoy; grandparents Christie and Ernie Evoy and Bob Baragar; and aunt Joyce Vollet.
Cal is survived by his loving wife and best friend Bonnie Vollet; canine friend (Cal’s little girl) Tessie; brother Randy (Shirleen) Vollet; Marlene and Barry ‘Bazz’ Dixon; Bev Baragar; and lifelong friend and brother by choice Preston (Terri) Haynee.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Cal may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Regina Chapter, 1545C McAra Street, Regina, SK S4N 6H4.
A very special thank you to the doctors and nurses in the ICU ward and ward 3E at the Regina General Hospital who took such good care of Cal. Angels among us.
A CELEBRATION OF CAL’S LIFE with family and friends will be announced at a later date.
