It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Audrey Field of Regina, SK formerly of Lake Alma SK on Saturday, April 22, 2017. Audrey passed away at the age of 84 years.

She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Juel Field; her parents Alfred and Ellen Bowman; her brother Edward Bowman; brothers-in-law Robert and Leonard Field; sister-in-law Ruth Forsythe; and son-in-law Marty Lund.

Left to cherish Audrey’s memory are her daughters Vivian Lund (Duane Nicholas), Susan Field and Karen (Greg) Pflanzner; grandchildren Michael, Aaron, Shelby (Patrick Jacobson) and Lexi; brother-in-law Ronald (Iris) Field; sisters-in-law Marlys (Jack) Hooper; Muriel Clemes and Avis Field; and many nieces and nephews.

Audrey was born at home in Ponteland, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England on November 8, 1932. She grew up in England during World War II, attending school then teacher’s college in England. She taught school in England for a few years and loved travelling to Ireland and Austria with her college friends.

In 1957, she and her friend Molly sailed to Canada to take what was intended to be short-term teaching jobs on the Canadian prairies. She was assigned to the school in Lake Alma where she met her husband Juel. They were married on December 21, 1959. They settled in Lake Alma and had three daughters, Vivian, Susan and Karen.

While Juel farmed, Audrey continued her teaching career with a few breaks when the girls were young. She spent most of her career teaching grade one and two at Lake Alma School, and later dividing her time between Lake Alma and Lyndale school at Oungre. She had many fond memories of her students and fellow teachers and always enjoyed visiting with them whenever she had the chance.

She brought with her from England a love for gardening, particularly roses and other flowers and enjoyed maintaining her large yard in Lake Alma. When she and Juel moved to Regina in 2002, she had a smaller yard, but thoroughly enjoyed planting flowers and tomatoes and watching the birds from her deck. Every spring her kitchen table was covered with bedding plants started from seed.

Juel and Audrey enjoyed trips to England and other parts of Europe to visit her family. She also really enjoyed trips to Arizona with Karen and Greg's family and was always ready for a shopping trip. A highlight was the Alaskan cruise Audrey and Juel took with all their grandchildren in 2011.

Audrey remained in the home she shared with Juel in Regina until her passing and her family is grateful that she was able to maintain her independence. She enjoyed the fellowship at church in Lake Alma, and at Bread of Life Church after moving to Regina. She was very proud of her daughters and grandchildren and was always ready to help with a tough essay assignment or share some stories of her life.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of 4B and the Intensive Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital as well as Dr. Akinloye, Dr. Suri, Dr. Baird and Dr. Tcherni for the care Audrey received.

PRAYERS will be held at Bread of Life Lutheran Church, 3018 Doan Drive, Regina SK on Thursday April 27, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Audrey may be made to the Bread of Life Lutheran Church, 3018 Doan Drive, Regina SK.
