With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Allan Loerzel on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.

Allan was born in Dodsland SK on June 16, 1955. He was raised on the family farm by Handel, SK where he was taught by his father to box, butcher, make and smoke sausage and to become a jack of all trades.

He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Margaret Loerzel; sister and brother-in-law Angie and Charlie Churchill; sister Leona Frey; very special aunt Sister Johanna of the Ursuline Sister's Order of Prelate, SK; and his very special and favourite uncle Pius Elder.

Allan is survived by family that he wanted to mention, his brother Ron (Noreen); sister and brother-in-law Irene and Keith McKinnon; sister and brother-in-law Joan and Bryan Frey; brother-in-law Barry Frey; his special niece and God Child Cassandra Lee Waters; his nieces and nephews who he was the closest to Dr. Grant Churchill, Dr. Stacie Churchill (Trent Dament), Cassandra Lee Waters (Mickey), Micheline McKinnon (Scott Wentworth), Kelly Frey (Michelle), Korilee Skinner (Jason) and Scott Frey (Melanie); and many great nieces, nephews including Ron's step grandchildren and many great friends.

Present while he passed away peacefully after having a massive stroke were, Ron and Noreen, and very special friends (who were like family, his advocates and helped him in his time of need) while Noreen said the Lord's Prayer. Ron kept his death bed wish of their father to look after the family and arranged with his wife Noreen, that on June 28, 2016, Allan received his last and final of the 7 Sacraments of the Roman Catholic faith, with the Sacrament of Extreme Unction (Last Rites).

Allan was quite the character and had a beautiful sense of humour and the biggest heart. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a farmer, elk rancher, oil rigger, everything else in between and a supreme hunter and marksmen with a half of mile shot to getting his deer.

He was able to show Noreen and Ron's grandsons Everett and Liam how to shoot their pellet rifles and hand guns at targets and teach them safety. Allan loved people especially children.

A CELEBRATION OF ALLAN'S LIFE will be held at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Ronald Andree, Celebrant.

He will be laid to rest at a later date in Handel, SK.

Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.
