Alice was born and raised on the family farm near Grenfell, SK. She attended Normal School in Regina and taught in several country schools.

Following her marriage to Charlie Garratt and the birth of her three sons, Alice taught grades 4 and 5 at Grant Road Elementary in Regina from 1959 until her retirement in 1977.

Alice’s career may have been teaching but her passion was art, from knitting, needlepoint and cross stitch to China painting and ceramics. Alice spent many happy hours creating beautiful works of art which she shared with family and friends.

Alice made many lifelong friends through her hobbies and continued to attend her Thursday night stitchery group until just a few months ago.

Alice was predeceased by her husband Charles; son Neil; parents Wilbert and Florence Hardy; and brothers Stanley, Colin and Edgar Hardy.

Alice is survived by her sister Eileen (Doug) Kent; sons Lyle (Linda) and Earl (Sharon); daughter in law Debbie; grandchildren K.C. (Shannon), Rhonda (Shane), Richard and Michael; great grandchildren Brodie, Jonah, Joshua and Cassidy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Lorilei Fletcher and all the staff at Selo Gardens Personal Care Home for their loving and dedicated care for the past seven years.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Alice may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or Hospitals of Regina Foundation, P.O.
